Beautiful Tuesday

It's another sunny day in our Kindergarten class. At the art table, we have beautiful roses to draw. We are exploring crab apples and mixing them up with our playdough. We are building structures and learning how to share and cooperate in the kitchen dramatic play area. We also are going to the library for our first class visit.

Mme Labrosse comes to our class every Tuesday and Thursday for preparation and planning time. 

This afternoon, we learned some ways to calm down when we are too upset or excited. We learned the faucet method and the balloon method. These are based on the conscious discipline method of self regulation. We explored pastels and talked about a few famous paintings.

Here we are doing the faucet method. Squeeze your hands for 5 seconds and then release.

Chilly Monday

Wow! The girls and boys were so quick at lining up this morning! Way to go! Remember, we line up in line A, with Arthur the owl.

This morning we are building structures while exploring gears and pulleys, we are enjoying the play-dough while exploring crab apples, creating a mural about our favorite part of kindergarten so far, and rearranging words to make sentences in the reading center! We also go to the gym with Mrs. Jessica and Mme Charlotte and played volleyball and soccer.

Now that the cooler weather has arrived, please encourage your child to get ready on his or her own, especially with coats and shoes.

Sunny Friday

The boys and girls are getting quite quick at finding their line in the morning and lining up. Please remind them to look for the owl and the letter A. We are the first line by the gate.

This morning, we read a story about a crayon box that talked. Mme had brought in some hosta leaves from her garden and some of us tried to draw the leaves. We are really enjoying the playdough center and making all kinds of things.
