Fantastic Friday

Thank you to everyone who came to visit the class last night.

This morning we are enjoying the sunshine and our beautiful outdoor classroom with Mme Charlotte. Back in the class we are working with playdough, building trains with bridges, working with tegu blocks and making crafts. The snack table continues to be a popular place in the morning! We are also learning how to cooperate and share in the kitchen. Some of us are also building with bristle blocks.








I like building a ship with the blocks.
I like building with the train track.
I like making my name with playdough.
I like playing at the doll house.
I liked doing the grade 1 reading challenge.
I liked drawing a picture.
I liked playing with my friends outside.
I liked making a craft at the art table.
I liked building with the tegu blocks.
I liked playing the piano.
I liked playing outside in the sandbox. 










This afternoon, we read a story about giving a moose a muffin. It was pretty silly! We also did some body breaks and practiced writing our letters with our arms.

At centers, we are experimenting with watercolor paints, building with blocks, making puzzles, reading and working at the grade 1 challenge table. At the challenge table, we are writing Fall words in french and in english.

Reminders:
Scholastic book orders were sent home yesterday. They are due on Sept. 21st if you are interested in ordering books.

Please make sure your child has an extra set of clothes at school.

PS We are looking for crabapples to add to our sensory bin and to our playdough. If you have a few at home that you could spare, please send them in your child's school bag. My neighbor's tree did not produce too many this year.... Thank you!

Beautiful Thursday - Program night tonight at 6:30

Reminder: Program night tonight at 6:30 in the gym. This is an information session for parents only.

We are having another exciting morning in Kindergarten. This morning, we are making letters with Wiki sticks, building puzzles, cooperating in the kitchen and the bus and sharing at the little family house. We are also learning that we all need to help with the tidy up. Together, we made up a list of class rules to keep us safe.















Morning comments from the students:

We read a story about a grumpy bunny going to school after rest time. We are building, using pegs and boards, building puzzles, reading and painting our hands for our rules poster.

Scholastic book orders were sent home today. If you are interested in ordering books for your child, please complete the form and send it in to school. You can pay online through Scholastic or send a cheque in the communication book with the order form,  made out to Scholastic ltd. Make sure your child's name is on the order form. Thank you!

Please continue to encourage your child to get ready independently, open snack containers, put coat on, put school bag on back without help, etc.

Sunny Wednesday

We were having technical difficulties with SeeSaw and wanted to have communication about our day with the parents and students so we decided to return to the blog!

We were very busy in the owl class this morning.  We worked on our fine motor skills ripping pieces of paper, glueing and cutting apple shapes.  We also worked on different puzzles.  We worked on our number recognition with number tracers and our letters with tangrams and letter shapes. We also went to gym class today and worked on our gross motor with volleyballs and playing hockey with pool noodle sticks. Some of us relaxed and read some books together and some of us worked on cooperating and sharing while working in the kitchen.

This afternoon, we played outside, had lunch and had a little rest. After reading a story, we did some movement activities and then went to explore our centers. We made a funny puzzle, played with magnetic wooden blocks, used our fine motor muscles with the playdough and drew some pictures. We also worked with small lego.
