Our friend, Miss Lindsay sent us some traditional clothing and a mortar and pestle from Bolivia. Here are some pictures:
The dress is a <tipoy> Here is the info from Miss Lindsay:
There is a tipoy, a traditional dress that indigenous women wear here in Santa Cruz. On the tipoy there is a painting of a woman using a tacu. It's like a giant mortar and pestle that they use to crush grains, plantains and cassava.
Mini version of the tacu - mortar and pestle.
Thank you Miss Lindsay! We love hearing about your adventures in Bolivia!
And just when we thought the day couldn't get better, our reading buddies came over!
