Library visit on Tuesday

Reminder: we are exchanging our library books on Tuesday. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving weekend!

We had a busy day in Kindergarten! This morning, we had centers and then played in the gym.

We made some turkey crafts to bring home. We worked very hard on them all week! Gobble, gobble!

We had a busy afternoon playing with wiki sticks, selling pumpkins, doing some leaf-rubbings and painting with leaves. We got messy!

White and Orange Pumpkins

One of our friends brought a picture he made of Terry Fox running with the police escort. Beautiful picture! Thank you for sharing with us!

This morning we coloured, we made a ship, a dinosaur truck and a go-kart with the duplos.

We made predictions about the colour of the inside of the white pumpkin and the inside of the orange pumpkin. We then cut both pumpkins. The orange one was easy to cut but the white one was very hard to cut. We only managed to take slices out of the white one. Surprise! The rind was white but the pulp was light green. The seeds are white.

Some friends played a letter game with Mme Chantal.

Class Reminders:

1. Student photo proofs went home today, if your child was at school for photo day. Orders are due back at school by October 19th. We have not yet received the class photo.

2. Pizza order forms are due Thursday. Please place money in a labelled bag when you send cash to school.

3. PD Day on Friday and Holiday on Monday.

4. Please encourage your children to get their coats on by themselves. Thank you!

This morning, we read a beautiful book called Thanks for Thanksgiving. During centers we built a ship out of Duplos and sold pumpkins at our pumpkin patch. We played a math game.

Some of us made puzzles and some of us read books with Miss Tanya from the childcare. 

We also went to the Learning Commons to exchange our book. Please make sure you return the book in a ziploc bag before next Tuesday. Thank you!

This afternoon, we went to walk in the junior yard for the Terry Fox Walk. We did about 5 turns of the pit. The students did a great job! We are so proud of them! Way to go!

We solved a mystery this morning! We had some rose leaves with little holes in them. We found that leaf cutter bees often make holes in rose leaves. They use the leaves to line their nurseries underground or in tree trunks.

We also went to the gym and played soccer and basketball!

Another beautiful day in Kindergarten! We did some yoga in the library. It was relaxing!
We have 5 new pumpkins in our class and our papier mache pumpkins are ready. They look good!

We finished up our Thanksgiving pictures and shared what we were thankful for.

This afternoon we worked hard on creating two new scarecrow friends to protect our pumpkin patch.
We also worked on our math skills weighing the different pumpkins and beads on our scale to see which were heavier.
