Taking a Ferry

Hi boys and girls,
I hope you are having a wonderful summer! I went on a trip to Prince Edward Island last week and I crossed the long Confederation Bridge and to come back, I went on the ferry. I have some pictures to show you:

First, Confederation Bridge links New Brunswick to Prince Edward Island.  The bridge is 12.9 km long! It took 4 years to build the bridge. It takes 10 minutes to cross the bridge at a speed of 80 km/hour. When you're on the bridge, you can't see over the side as there are walls on the side of the bridge. Here is a picture from the internet :

When you're on the bridge you see:
Not much! you see blue sky and a cement wall on the side.

On the way back we took the ferry from Prince Edward Island to Nova Scotia. We drove our car onto this big ship, parked the car and then went upstairs to look at the beautiful view!
 We drive on the ship.

 We park the car.

We go upstairs and enjoy the view. We even saw a seal in the water! We are on the ferry for 75 minutes. We thought we would be cold on the ferry, but it was actually quite warm! There is also a restaurant inside. In this picture, I'm with my niece Genevieve and her dog Bronte. It was his first time on a ship!

Then, there is an announcement to go back to our cars and we drive off the ship.

Here, you can see all of the cars waiting to get on the ferry to go to Prince Edward Island. You have to line up one hour ahead of time. There are over 200 cars on the ferry!

I hope you enjoyed this little part of my trip. I will post more pictures from my trip later on this week. Stay safe and have a wonderful summer!
Mme Chantal
