What we learned about insects today - in their own words:

Fireflies attract mates by lighting up.
Only female mosquitoes drink blood.
Ladybugs eat pests on farms.
Butterflies have wet wings when they first come out - they wait for them to dry to fly.
Fireflies glow at night and their eggs glow too!
Many insects are different.
Butterflies drink with their mouth like a straw.
Crickets rub their wings together and the grasshoppers rub their legs together to make noise.
The praying mantis can eat a lizard! What??
Only the male crickets make noise.
Bees look for nectar to make honey.
