Bats, bats, bats!

This morning we read a book about bats! We learned that bats have fur and sharp teeth. Many friends went around asking friends if they were afraid of bats and filled out a survey sheet. Some of us drew pictures with pastels and we finished our bat craft - they are hanging in a cave outside of our classroom. Some are sleeping upside down and some are flying!

Our Bat Inquiry bulletin board

This afternoon, we started a Bat Fact book for our class. Each student is making a page with a different bat fact on each page. We are becoming bat experts! Ask us about bats tonight at home!
Here are some questions you can ask: Are bats out during the day or at night? Do they have feathers or fur? How do they sleep? What do they eat? What is a baby bat called? (a pup) Are bats mammals or birds? We found this information this week while we were reading books and watching information videos.
